Aside from this index, there is another important parameter for evaluating obesity; the most important is your body fat percentage.
In the adult male a greater percentage than 18% is considered obesity and in the female adult a percentage over than 25% is considered obesity.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to determine the percentage of body fat and every day more exact and specific methods exists for such evaluation, for example the bioelectric impedance, the underwater weight and the measuring of the fat layer with a NIR light beam.
Obesity alone is a great health problem and the complications that arise from same are very serious, greatly deteriorating the quality of life which could end in death.
